FlowLab

LARGEST OPEN CHANNEL TESTING FACILTIY IN THE WORLD - FlowLab

AWMA have designed and built FlowLab the largest open channel testing facility in the world. Flowlab is a large scale calibrated volumetric test facility, allowing simulated in-situ testing of water control structure and metering devices in open channel conditions with flows ranging between 0.5ML/day to 100ML/day. (1100 l/s)

FlowLab is Open for Inspection!!

FlowLab meets industry demand for a facility to test and research the accuracy of metering infrastructure (including meters and water control infrastructure).

AWMA's extensive research and development projects are aimed at advancing Australia's ability to control, monitor and account for water usage across all sectors of the Australian water industry. The facility FlowLab is the first of its kind in the world. As such, it holds extensive business potential and opportunity to lead international flow certification standards.

FlowLab was constructed March-June 2007 and has raised much interest from political and industry leaders. Once certified by NATA (National Association of Testing Authorities) this resource will be run by an independent body for the benefit of research, certification and education.

AWMA will ensure FlowLab is capable of meeting the verification requirements for metering emplacements that may be set out in the new National Metering Standards.

For a greater understanding of how FlowLab can benefit your organisation, please contact AWMA for information, a group presentation or personal site tour.
